Opening Conference
The Conference will be opened with a keynote speech delivered by
a distinguished expert, especially invited to address some revelant
issues concerned to the theme of the meeting - Scientific
Communication Today. The presentation will take 45 minutes,
followed by a 15 minute session devoted for questions from the public.
Conferences
There will be five conferences in which especially invited prominent
specialists in the international arena will address keynote issues
of scientific publishing and communication, analysing how editor's,
publisher's and author's work has been influenced by changing technologies,
and what are the challenges the scientific community presently faces.
Conferences will take 45 minutes each, followed by a 15 minute session
devoted for questions from the public.
Panels
There will be six panel discussions following the conferences.
Panels are designed to provide an appropriate setting for the discussion
of significant issues that have been deeply affecting the scientific
communication, and for the exchange of experiences. Panels are planned
to take two hours, and gather up to four invited speakers, each
one having a maximum of twenty minutes to address her/his points
of view. Each presentation will be followed by a 10 minute session
devoted for questions from the public.
Closing Session
Conducted by representatives of the Conference Commitees and the
Organizing Institutions, the Closing Session will summarize the
issues discussed at the IFSE-Rio Conference,
pointing out the main conclusions, results, and recommendations.
A final report will be available after the Conference.
